3rd International Muslim Unity Convention

Preparations are underway for the 3rd International Muslim Unity Convention. No official date or venue has been announced but unconfirmed sources have suggested that it will take place sometime in October 2010 in Kuala Lumpur.

Muhammad Umar, Chairman of the Organising Committee said, "Inshallah the 3rd IMUC will be much bigger and will once again set the benchmark and agenda for Muslim Unity in the 21^st Century.

We are already highlighting possible speakers to invite to the 3^rd convention and all I can comment at this moment is that the 3rd Convention will be one to truly remember.”

Mr. Muhammad Umar Chairman of the Ramadhan Foundation comments:

“The 2nd International Muslim Unity Convention held on Dec 15 -16th 2009 in Kuala Lumpur was a great success, with over 25 international speakers, economists, business leaders and commentators this was the first of its kind across the world where speakers came together to talk about Muslim unity.

With representatives from the Shia, Sunni, Salafi and many other groups from the diverse global Muslim families this Convention not only talked but demonstrated unity in practice.

A keynote address from Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed, 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia started the first day along with speeches from a variety of scholars and international speakers.

I am grateful to all the international speakers and guests, sponsors, MY Events and Perdana Leadership Foundation in Malaysia for their support and commitment to this vision.

Plans have already started for the 3rd Muslim Unity Convention in 2010 and I am certain it will be bigger and better.”

It is with happiness and great joy that we announce to everyone that the learned and noble scholar of Mauritania HE Shaykh Abdur Rahman weld Hajj is confirmed to speak at the 2IMUC.

Shaykh M. Yaqoubi Confirmed

Shaykh Muhammad al Yaqoubi confirmed to speak at 2IMUC

It is confirmed that the Syrian scholar Shaykh Muhammad al Yaqoubi who is a leading lecturer at the Grand Omayyad Mosque in Damascus is confirmed to speak at the 2IMUC.

Muhammad Umar, Chairman comments, "we are very honored and happy to hear that Shaykh al Yaqoubi has confirmed to take part in the convention, we look forward to welcoming him to Kuala Lumpur.

2nd International Muslim Unity Convention - speakers announcement

The Ramadhan Foundation begins the formal announcement of the International speakers that will be attending the 2nd International Muslim Unity Convention in Kuala Lumpur from 15 - 16 December 2009.

Mr. Muhammad Umar, Chairman of the Ramadhan Foundation and Executive Chairman of the Organising Committee comments:

HE Dato' Seri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak
Prime Minister of Malaysia

The sixth and serving Prime Minister of Malaysia. He previously held the post of Deputy Prime Minister from January 7, 2004 until he succeeded Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as Prime Minister on April 3, 2009. Prime Minister Najib is currently the President of UMNO. He is also the son of Malaysia's second prime minister, Tun Abdul Razak.

HE Al Sayed Ali Al Hashimi
Special Advisor to His Highness President of UAE

His Excellency Al Sayed Ali al Hashimi is the one of the World’s leading Islamic scholar renowned across the globe for his knowledge and wisdom. He was the Special Adviser to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Nahyan and also had the honour to lead his funeral prayers in November 2004.

Currently he is the Religious Advisor to His Highness The President of United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Vice Chairman IUMS, Saudi Arabia

His Excellency Shaykh Abdallah bin Mahfudh ibn Bayyah is a leading Islamic scholar and a former Vice President of Mauritania, currently teaching at King Abdul Aziz University.

His Excellency Shaykh is presently involved in several organisations in the Muslim world, such as al Majma’ al-Fiqhi, which comprises a body of scholars from across the Muslim world and from different Schools of Thought (madhhabs) and viewpoints.
